Character Information
Character name: Berwald Oxenstierna
Nation: Sweden
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Appearance
Height: 1,82m is what Heta Wiki tells me.
Hair/eyes: Blond, short, slightly messy hair. Bright blue eyes.
Notable Features: Wears glasses, and rarely uses expressions other than his "scary" scowl.
Personality:
Sweden has considerably calmed down since his Viking days. He’s now calm, collected, polite and hard working. He acts particularly loving towards Finland and Sealand, and he fights for the two’s sake with all his might, if they get in trouble. With Norway and Iceland, Sweden usually acts like an older brother, even if they aren’t as close as Tino and Peter. Sweden is annoyed easily by Denmark, but doesn’t really hate him. Fights might break out, but he’s hardly trying to seriously injure the Dane.
I should add that Sweden struggles to speak his mind, as shown more than once in the strips, being a bit awkward when trying to voice his feelings.
Mythology
While Swedish folklore is much richer than the stereotypes say, the bronze/Viking era deities and stories are probably the most famous. Odin’s eye, the three of life, Valkiries, the Ragnarok, Fenrir, and all that jazz. But of course, I hope the other Nordics agree here, since I assume we’ll be sort of hanging out all the time, no?
(Also if further description of any myths are required, just let me know.)
Sample Post
The Swede had been standing in front of that same window for the last hour or so, maybe even more. His legs were beginning to protest, but many thoughts rushed through his mind, keeping him too busy to care.
He tried to remember the fight that had taken place the night before, forcing them out of his own house. His body felt sore, maybe from all the years without joining a proper battle, and added to the feeling of witnessing his homeland being destroyed.
It was all just a blur; they had been defeated far too quickly for his liking. Most of the fighting had been done by Denmark and himself, one for the sake of old days of glory, and the other in a desperate attempt of keeping the shadows off his many brothers.
But no. All his efforts, all the injuries he had to put up with during the fight, all his struggle. It now looked so distant, so small. So useless, Berwald.
Finland had been taken. His Finland. And just like that, the world crumbled to pieces. When Finland vanished behind the black veil the shadows used to appear from.
Other Important Notes
Please excuse eventual engrish, and also if I get the name of a myth wrong. I know the stories/names in my home language, so yeah.
And if any descriptions are too short/not good enough, let me know and I'll fix it.
