Character Information
Character name: Toris Lorinaitis
Nation: Lithuania
Age: 19 (according to the character info)
Gender: Male
Appearance
Height: 5’8
Hair/eyes: Green eyes and brown hair that sits at shoulder length
Notable Features:
Toris looks slight but looks can be deceiving; since he practices martial arts regularly he does have some muscle. He usually wear his hair down but sometimes ties it up in a pony tail leaving the two strands that hand over his ears loose. He’s the sort of person that may get over looked because he doesn’t seem to have anything overly unique about him, at least in comparison to others, but that suits him just fine.
Personality:
Toris is the type of character that prefers to be curled up by the fire with a good book. He's got a very gentle personality and does not enjoy being in the spotlight or at the center of attention in anyway. Everything about him is aimed at keeping himself unnoticed; from the way he dresses to his second hand car. This could be in order to avoid a certain Russian or simply because it is the type of person he is. Even when he is with his best friend Feliks he is still generally more reserved allowing Feliks to be the leader in whatever it is they are doing for the day. Things have been like that with the two of them for quite sometime.
Being more than a little bit of a worrywart Toris tends to get overworked about many things leading him to get horrible stomach aches. His worrying is both a good and a bad thing; it's good because it shows he cares about his friends and will do anything for them, even risking Ivan's wrath to warn Feliks of an impending attack against him (even though Feliks did not really take his warning seriously). It's a bad thing because he tends to over worry things and, as stated before, get horrible stomach aches which just lead him to be more worried depressed. Because of this he has the highest suicide rate in the world.
Despite all this Toris can still be a very forward person when he needs to. Though he is usually a passive person Toris can be very assertive when he needs to be. Not a lot of people think about it but he used to control a large chunk of Europe back in medieval times, and he kicked Prussia's butt. That fighting spirit remains in him but does not often come out, not until someone threatens someone he cares for or really angers him. When Toris becomes really close with someone they become like family to him and he defends his family to the death.
Mythology
Lithuania was the last of the European countries to become a Christian state, which caused them no end of frustration due to attacks by the Tutonic knights. . Prior to this the people worshiped nature through the personification of several deities Lithuanian mythological beliefs can be divided into four categories, gods, spirits and demons (low mythology), worship of nature, and the worship of the dead. Their main deities included: Dievas (God) who would later become the Christian God, Perkunas (Thunder and Justice), Saulė (Sun Goddess), Menulis (the Moon) and Zemyna (the Earth's deity).
Some of the other figures in Lithuanian mythology include:
Žaltys the grass snake was also a symbol of good fortune, and it was bad luck to kill a snake -as they were the beloved creatures of Saulė.
Aitvaras who is a household spirit which looks like a white or black rooster with a fiery tail and in some cases may be a dragon when it appears outdoors. Aitvaras provide their adopted home with stolen gold and grain, often getting the household into trouble. According to many, an Aitvaras can be purchased from the devil - the price being that person's soul.
Laukų dvasios (spirits of fields), spirits, who were running through the fields. When crops in the fields waved in the wind, people saw them as being the actions of spirits which appear in a number of forms including: wolves, bears, foxes, hares, and human shaped.
Velnias a trickster type demon
Žiburinis a scary forest spirit that appears as a phosphorescent skeleton.
Ovinnik This is a malevolent spirit of the threshing house. He has a tendency to burn down threshing houses by setting the grain ablaze. On New Year's Eve, his warm touch indicates good luck and fortune, while a cold touch means unhappiness.
A number of lesser spirits exist as well such as Kaukas (similar to trolls), Laumė (like pixies), Nykštukas (like gnomes)

Thought up on the spot:
Some days when there was no paperwork to do, when the cleaning had all been done, and when there just wasn't a lot to do other than nothing at all; Toris liked to sit and think. Sometimes his mind would wander to the past; of days spent amidst golden fields of rye, the wind in his hair and no concerns other than the next harvest. In these memories Feliks stands beside him all golden and full of energy, green eyes sparkly with mischief and ideas on how to spend the day spilling from his mouth; ideas that would most likely get them both in a world of trouble with their boss.
Other times his thoughts stray to darker things; his people screaming around him as they are shot down, the cold nights in Siberia huddling with others for warmth, being on his knees scrubbing the floors for hours until his hands bleed, mostly he remembers dead violet eyes staring down at him as the whip came down.
These are all painful memories but he uses them as reminder of everything that has come since then. He has made so many new friends through it all, has gained two brothers, and a connection with his people that goes deeper than ever before. He was truly blessed.
From an RP:
That evening a large storm hit, forcing Ivan's guests to stay longer than as had been originally planned. Ivan had been forced to set them up in his home for the night. Now all three were set up in the east wing of the house, at the opposite side of the house from where Ivan's rooms were. Toris had wondered at the time if that hadn't been due to the Russian's paranoia at having Alfred so close.
He had of course said nothing and prepared the rooms as instructed.
Now the Lithuanian faced another problem. He'd woken up from one of the most exotic dreams he had ever had. He didn't quite remember the details but his body certainly did. After several failed attempts to will away the erotic images from his mind and calmed his body Toris realized it was futile.
Annoyed at his 'apparent' lack of control he tiptoed down the hall to the bathroom. If he was quiet enough perhaps Ivan wouldn't hear him. Drawing nearer he saw Ivan come out of his room, likely doing his 'rounds'…or perhaps just finishing up…? He looked completely messed up, clothes askew and a …small bruise on his neck? Shaking any curious thoughts from his mind Toris decided to flee back to his room, but couldn't without being caught by Ivan and so ran the other way…further down and into the east wing.
Now he stood there trying to decide what to do…Ivan surely would be angry if he weren't in his room…but his 'apparent' problem refused to go away, having actually gotten worse by the running he did…(his dream surely must have been…odd if being chased was turning him on). Absently he looked to see where he was and realized he was standing outside the guest rooms where Ivan's guests were…
Biting his lips Toris, glanced down at his problem and then in the direction of Matthew's room. He shivered as he remember Matthew's offer, forward as it might have been. But If Ivan caught him…he didn't want to imagine what would happen. Sighing he prepared to turn and head back to his room.
Other Important Notes
I don’t like to play a Toris that is all meek and essentially a pussy. I like a Toris that fights back in small ways, even though they may go unnoticed. Yes he will still have some fear of Ivan it won't be the 'omg please don't rape me mister big evil Russian.’ In fact I think he cares about Russia in a small way, wanting to help him even with everything Ivan has done. Also I like worrywart Toris; he's cute without being obnoxious. I can't really think of anything else at the moment.
Also I hope there's enough mythology; I tried to include some of the creatures more than just the general mythology because a lot of the information was on how Lithuania's worshiped and about the various gods.
