I think I did this right...
Character Information
Character name: Herakles Karpusi
Nation: Greece
Age: 27
Gender: All... male? Yes. All male.
Appearance
Height:5'9”
Hair/eyes: Brown hair, green eyes.
Notable Features: The tiny twin hair curl on the top of his head? And sleepy eyes. He's always sleepy. Or pretends to be.
Personality:
To everyone else, Herakles looks like a lazy guy, happy to bum around and nap as you please anywhere and everywhere. Introverted, Herakles prefers to think things through quite thoroughly before putting anything into action. If there is time for it. He feels not many people understand him, and prefers the company of his many cats, to people.
As slow as he can be though, Herakles can fly into action when he feels like it. He can be quite sly and crafty, and if with the right, or according to him, wrong company, can become quite the trouble maker and fire starter.
Mythology
Do I have to list all of the myths? There's a lot. D=
Hmmm... well, there's the Greek Gods, Olympus, Hercules, Perseus, Gorgons, Harpies, Sphinxes, Amazons, sea monsters, giant metal statues who's name I forget. Jason and the Argonauts, the golden fleece, Odysseus, the Iliad, cyclops, titans, Tartarus/Hades/Hell, Elysian Fields? (Champs Élyssés, that garden in Hades for the good people that die).
The river Styx, Achilles, manticores, minotaurs, King Midas and his golden touch, Icarus, the Labyrinth of Crete? I think it was in Crete. That's where the Minotaur was.
Pegasus. Nymphs, dryads, satyrs, nereids, sylphs, the North, South, East and West wind. Persephone. Daphne, Narcissus, Hyacinth, orgies for Dionyssus.
That's all I can think of, off the top of my head. Other than that, I can hit the books, OR there's the internet. You can find anything on the internet.
OH! Greece had sirens too! Don't listen to them sing!
And Zeus says I can rape anything or anyone I fall in love with.
Sample Post
It was a rather quiet day, Herakles thought, stroking his hand steadily over the fur of the current cat laying on his chest. He gave the creature an amiable smile, scratching it behind the ear, before his thoughts drifted.
He was worried. Worried about money, about his boss, about his people. Finally worrying truly, about how much his debt was going to strain his relationships. He tapped the cat on his chest on the nose, wondering if he had suddenly acquired Midas' touch, and tilted his head when the animal purred at him.
“I suppose it's a good thing I don't have it,” murmured the Greek softly, going back to petting the cat. Midas had gone mad with his ability after all, and had died starved and parched, for food and wine he could no longer taste.
Then he wondered if there was a story his mother had told him, that would enlighten him, and aid him out of this dilemma. Perhaps he would talk to his boss again about, accepting the loan. But after he'd thought it through some more.
Other Important Notes
I like kitties. So does Herakles.
(I'm sorry if this application makes little sense in some spots, I'm still getting randoms spells of 'weeeeeeeeeeeeee!' from my cold/flu thing.)
Ummmm... I'm still learning about the character, so if anyone has input, I'm willing to hear it. =D
